FALLing in Love With Autumn Date Nights

Here’s a question for you - WHY ARE SUMMER DATE NIGHTS THE ABSOLUTE BEST?! Seriously! My favorite nights out with my hubby are usually at a restaurant down by the water with a huge pitcher (or 2) of white sangria.

Knowing that summer is pretty much O-V-E-R makes me a little sad. BUT the Fall season is upon us which means: PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHANG! My husband & I are your typical basic bitches who love a good pumpkin spice coffee.

However, there is much more to do once the crisp, cool air starts to blow in. So, if you’re ready to put away your bikini and put on your flannel, I’ve got the perfect Autumn Date Night (or Day Date) ideas to match!

pumpkin picking

Back in April, we adopted another puppy named Remy. And just the other night I mentioned to my husband that I cannot wait to take both dogs now to the pumpkin patch to start loading up on all things fall and festive! I know our dogs can’t talk, but if they could, they'd tell us how much they love wearing flannel and spending the day finding the perfect pumpkin just as much as the next guy. The best part is, you never have to pay for parking or the enter the pumpkin patch. Obviously, you need to pay for what you pick unless your ideal date night is spending time together in jail and then, in that case, go nuts!

decorating for halloween

This is another great way to spend time together and have fun! If you’re not a fan of Halloween, then I’m sorry, this blog isn’t for you - please move along. If you just moving in together and may not have a lot of decor, no worries! I am the Queen of bargain shopping (sometimes…..). A lot of my holiday decorations are from Dollar Tree, the dollar section at Target, OR I shop the clearance racks and stack up for next season. Come to my house between Halloween and Christmas. You’ll think you’re at the actual store where all that came from!

football sunday

Being that my main squeeze is off on Sunday’s, that’s usually our day/night to do something. Now that football is back on and why are fans of the same team (Let’s Go GIANTS!) going out to watch the game is something we’ll partake in every so often. Can’t afford to go out? That’s OK, we’re not always able to eat and drink out of the house every Sunday either. In that case, we’ll invite friends and family over for some appetizers (Aldi’s is GREAT for this) and some light refreshments (beer...champagne....).

apple picking

What is better than fresh fruits and veggies? AMIRITE? Just like pumpkin picking, you only pay for what you pick - everything else is free (parking, entry). One of my favorite things about apple picking is the fresh apple cider donuts. If you haven’t tried one yet, you honestly haven’t lived. It’s also another (most of the time) dog-friendly activity you can do. In case you haven’t caught on, we like to do a lot with our pups. Not only is it great to socialize them, but they’re so excited to be out that they sleep so much better at night. It’s a win-win.

fall festivals

Craft beer, cool air, a sexy man, what more could you ask for? I love a good fall festival! Hit up Google to see what’s going on in your neighborhood and go check one out. I love the little pop-up shops they typically have too. Once you have a few beers, you’ll be surprised at how many cinnamon spice candles you’ll NEED to purchase.
